Information and Knowledge Management is a crucial role in public and third sector organisations. It is the process of researching, gathering, organizing, storing and providing information within an organization and sharing knowledge through connecting people and facilitating communication and collaborations. These activities increasingly involve working with systems, some roles specialize in the storage design and findability of information which involves development of metadata standards, information architecture and taxonomy groups.
